GO TO GAZA!
"ARISE, AND GO TOWARD THE SOUTH"
(Acts 8:26)
God does not ask, He
commands. "Arise and go." Ministries
determined by God have His
imperative. He does not ask for favors;
He never measures the circumstances,
nor the distance or the extent of the
field.
God looks at the hearts of those
He calls.
Men who were summoned and
called by the Lord are blind to human
circumstances, insensitive to barriers
and difficulties, passionate about their
mission, and inebriated by the voice of
the Spirit of God.
Those Samaritans, in fact, were
descended from a handful of Jews,
remnants of the Babylonian captivity,
and a few Philistines. And they were
despised by the Jews.
But when the Holy Spirit came,
the barriers were broken down.
"See, here is water! What
prevents me from being baptized?"
(Acts 8:36)
God provided an evangelist. He
brought Philip in the air for a sublime
mission.
The action of the Holy Spirit is
always surprising. When everything
seems impossible, He acts
miraculously and does His
extraordinary Work!
In these times of apostasy,
unbelief and disobedience to the Word,
resistance, and frontal and veiled
manipulation of it, the Lord performs
the impossible.
The most important person in
Ethiopia was used by God to
experience, reveal, and announce His
Word of life and Salvation to His
people.
It seems to me that God's call is
the same today as the one made by
the Prince of Candace: "HERE IS
WATER, WHAT IS PREVENTING YOU?"
And why not extend the
question: If the Spirit of the Lord has
been given to us, and He exists and is
there at our disposal, why not have
Him abundantly? The Spirit gushes...
Preach the Word: THERE IS
WATER, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS
THERE. WHY DON'T WE HAVE MORE
AND MUCH MORE OF HIM AT A TIME
OF SO MUCH NEED, DEPENDENCE,
AND SPIRITUAL THIRST?
"ARISE, GO DOWN TO GAZA."
