To the Church in Laodicea
Revelation 3:14-22
NIV
The words I say are true and faithful from the very beginning of creation. I know your works and also the unstable nature you have. I know your tendency to fickleness, inconstancy and dissimulation (v.15). It's hard to trust you.
The prosperity that surrounds you, the wealth, ostentation, pride and arrogance of your heart only cause you harm. You've lost the prospect of life. You swerved from my purpose and followed your tendencies.
You are reaping the results of your choices. They don't have either content or reliable structure.
You dived into an illusion, natural product of your lifestyle. That’s why you are so unhappy! You think you can do everything alone. You think the property that surround you are enough and you do not need anyone else. And you also think that you can keep acting like this indefinitely.
I counsel you to change your life, while I'm at the door (v.20). Standing up, in front, I keep knocking ... I see how wretched, poor, blind and naked you are. You try to hide, but it's impossible ... You need to buy from me gold refined in the fire. Genuine gold. (v.18)
I have holy clothes for you, washed in the Blood of the Lamb. More than just cover your nakedness, they will cover your iniquities, providing comfort and joy. I have the holy oil to anoint your eyes; heal your blindness and reveal the new world of the Spirit (v.18).
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. (v.19)
Be careful, dedicated and diligent with my Work. All that is for me, do it with love. You need to be servant. My servant. Only then my blessings shall flow completely in your life.
Repent. Repent when you make mistakes. Never run away, or throw the blame over others. Never accuse your brother in order to defend or justify your own mistakes. Be loyal.
True servants dignify their lord. They never despise him or embarrass him for any reason. Instead, they always praise him. Do you remember the Shunammite? Amidst the pain of losing her only son, full of faith and hope, she said: "Everything is all right" (II Kings 4:26). I want to come into your life forever. I want your whole heart.
I want to enter your home, sit at the table, and have supper with you and your family (v.20).
I will send the Purifying Fire of my Spirit; I'll blow the breeze from the High, the Latter Rain which revives the soul. I want to save you, have you with me forever.
I can not stand the tepidness or the lukewarm water. This water causes malaise, nausea and abominable attitudes (v.16). Leave the dubiousness, make up your mind, and come back to me.
I'm at the door. Repent now. You'll win, like I did; and you'll sit with me on the Throne of My Father (V 21).
May God bless you.
