THE BATTLE OF INTERCESSIONS GO ON

“There is a sound of abundance of rain.”

(1 Kings 18:41)

The tension began back in March of this year. So many battles were conquered since we, Local Labors and Pastors, compromised to an intense scheduled of prayers! The marches, protests and devastations created fear, insecurity, and intimidation. The World Cup is over but the Government Elections are here.

This is Brazil. The world is depreciating… even our neighborhoods are silent.

The battle is not over yet. King Ahab hastily rode his chariot to return to his palace. He wanted to share God’s miracles with Jezebel after hearing a promise on “plentiful rain” delivered by the Prophet Elijah.  

Jezebel did not thankful the Lord for the great rain that was about to come. Neither did she praise Him for delivering the people. On contrary, she was filled with hate and even started to plan on how to destroy the Israelites. She wanted to overpower the prophet completely (1 Kings 19:2). To Elijah the storm had already been fulfilled.

Once again Elijah turned into God. He went up to the top of Carmel. There, he casted himself down upon the earth, and put his face upon his knees. Then, he prayed. When a prophet of God puts his face upon his knees to pray his prayer weights heavier. When a prophet of God knees down he demonstrates that he has fully blocked his reasoning, giving up his personal feelings and denying all human stratagems. (1 Kings 18.42).

After a prophet humbly bows his head to pray he does not need to see a miracle in the natural world to believe in it beforehand. A prophet does not need to prove miracles to no one. Nor does a prophet need to look for signs to convince others of God’s actions.

When the rain came the waters went into the gates of the city. God’s hand covered Elijah. He had his sacerdotal vest over his shoulder. His loins were girded. He looked for all the world. That is a godly man.

     And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in              the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the  earth.

     And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in          Samaria. (...)

      And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

       So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

          And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

           And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

          And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

          And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Praise the Lord because His eyes are over Pastor Gustavo and his wife Teresa. They have a hard and challenging job, but tare succeeding. The doors that once were shut are now open again. God’s power is reaching lives. Let’s pray for this couple, for the Church and the Rehab project. May God renew Pastor Gustavo’s strength. May God renew Peniel’s strength as well. Peniel is located at the very heart of Brazil.

ESPIRITUAL REVOLUTION IN AQUIDAUANA, MS – BRAZIL

Peniel Aquidauana is well known for its audacity, courage and determination. The Church is expending and growing at the very margins of the Pantanal, the world’s largest wetland area.

Glorious testimony of God’s Power and confirmation to our brothers from Aquidauana. The city was recently impacted by the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord of all Glory continue to deliver His blessing over Pastor Joair and his wife Marta. May the Lord richly bless both of you (Pictures are available on the Website).

Peniel África - Guiné-Bissau, continues stedfast and unmoveable. They are conquering important victories. For example, the “ebolavirus” didn’t get to them eventhough they are near from Senegal. Let’s pray for Wesley and Cleide’s health. Also, pray for the national leaders,   PrC. Antônio, PrC. Pançal e PrC. Brainer.

Classes at ESMI-Africa, a School for African Preachers, will restart in October. “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name” (Psalm 91:14).

14º MISSIONARY MONTH

Ends today the 14º MISSIONARY MONTH celebrated at Peniel Church from Bairro Amazonas Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. Local and State wide Peniel Churches worked together. They relied on their own preachers and advertised the event among the people of God. May God Bless Peniel Bairro Amazonas along with all of those who cooperated with them. May God specially bless the Missionary Fields. 

GEORGE FOSTER E DOLLY

Precious friends and special brothers, Gorge Foster and Dolly are currently going through great trials. Dolly is ill. Her health situation  is extremely delicate. Let’s pray for this unique missionary couple. They have offered 25 years of their lives on behalf of Brazil. May the Lord Bless Dolly and comfort the Forter’s hearts, specially George’s. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace…” (Jeremiah 29:11).
