Three days. That’s all it took.
As Jesus prays in the garden, I can see Him close His holy eyes. He knows He is close to the fulfillment of His purpose here on earth. His eyelids shut, tears run down His cheek. He does not see Death. He does not fear pain, no. He cries out to His Father “take this cup away from me”. Haven’t we all been there? In our prayer room, in our cars, on our way to work, in the middle of lunch, going up the elevator. Please, Lord, take this cup from me! The weight.
This is Jesus understanding you and I. It is His humanness and holiness bringing hands together in prayer. He rises. Faces the cross. Our cross.
You see, Jesus did not take the cross because He was told to. He did not walk the path to the Calvary because He was to blame. He did it for you. He did it for me. Each time we let Fear, Depression, Sorrow and Despair take over we should remember. Remember that the King of kings took our place and paid a high price. For every tear, every grief, He carried the cross.
I see Him at His last breath. He exhale His spirit into the hands of the Father and is taken to a place we all know very well. Dear brethren, believe in Him when He says whosoever believes in me, shall not die but have everlasting life! Jesus took three days for a reason. He visited all your fears. He visited each and every one of your wounds. He took the keys from Depression, from Illness, from Sorrow and Misery. He went into our darkest places to give us live!
It took Him three days bring you live, to set you free. Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus is alive to bring us life and life in abundance. He did not give up on you. He has never given up. On this day, bring back to your memory the unique love of Jesus. Remember that He saw your heart even before you were born, and He loved you. When you don’t believe anymore, when it seems too hard, too much, too much! Be of good cheer for He has overcome the world! He has overcome your deepest fears. Your deepest sorrows.
Come all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. He is the living peace we need. He is the joy we must live for! Rejoice, for the King is alive! He is good and loves you. He has not forsaken you. He has not forgotten. He is the light that brings healing to your life. He won over all your darkness. Do not forget. He has the keys to each and every aspect of your life, so come and praise Him!
It took Him three days because He will wanted to see your smile, and give you the choice of life. Believe in the Lord our God, for He is good. He has risen. He is alive. He is alive in you!
